Next, we have actually playing the MIDI. Something as simple as Windows Media Player can play an MIDI, but it can't be visually seen. To visually view MIDIs, we use programs such as Synthesia, Piano From Above, MIDITrail, Singer Song Writer, vanBasco's Karaoke Player, and MAMPlayer. If a black MIDI is too massive to be played on any of these programs, we can use programs such as TMIDI, Bedrock's MIDI Player, and BASSMIDI Tester, which either don't show the notes as visually well as the others or don't show them at all. However, they run MIDIs faster. Keppy Studios has done some modifications to programs to make MIDIs run faster.

If you have a computer and you want to view black MIDIs visually without the MIDI slowing down or crashing, here is my suggestion.

Get Piano From Above, it runs MIDIs quite fast, definitely faster than Synthesia. Next, get a synthesizer such as BASSMIDI or CoolSoft VirtualMIDISynth. Finally, download the MIDIs you want to play and run them on Piano From Above.

For soundfonts, you can use one of the soundfonts by Keppy Studios. Also check out this video.

Now to specifications of the computer itself.

Windows 8/8.1 worsens the performance of MIDIs by a large amount. (Windows 10 is about just as bad.) Windows 7 is the best for playing MIDIs at the moment. If you are still on 8/8.1, Keppy Studios released a method to make your 8/8.1 play as good as 7. Talk to him for more details.

A good CPU for black MIDIs needs good single-threading. The best for this currently is the i7-4790K, although something as cheap as a i3-4160 will work well with black MIDIs (just as well as an i7-3770 would do).

Although graphics cards don't help much with black MIDIs, it's still helpful to have a good one. A good graphics card (GPU) for black MIDIs would be something like a nVIDIA Geforce GTX or an AMD R5/R7/R9 series card.

You should have at least 2GB of RAM in your computer, and 16GB is good for anyone. 2GB is NOT recommended, 4GB is the minimum you should at least try to get to.

The size of your hard drive doesn't matter too much, as long as you can get everything you want into your computer it should be fine. An SSD will help a lot with loading files though, so try and get one to load your OS on.

These are good specifications for a computer and should play black MIDIs extremely well (if you get BASSMIDI or CoolSoft).
