Now, we're done with the history. Let's move on to making a black MIDI.

Black MIDIs are made with programs for normal MIDI making, such as FL Studio, Anvil Studio, Domino, BRELS MIDI Editor, Singer Song Writer, and SynthFont.

Black MIDIs are usually split into tracks which are moved into any of fifteen channels (there are sixteen, but the tenth one is for drums only). Most large black MIDIs have crash points, where the computer will ultimately freeze and play a heavy amount of notes. It mostly depends on your computer specifications to know if you will pass a crashing point.

As long as the sheet music looks fairly black, it counts as a black MIDI.

There are lag testers, that are designed to test the specifications of one's computer. They have a different purpose than black MIDIs and black MIDIs are often confused as being lag testers themselves.
